About this paint

The 49’s (2nd) replacement was ready for the second race of the year in Spain. Miles did not qualify and Rindt's car broke down after only 9 laps. While the 72 was at Monaco it was only used for testing, with the 49 used for qualifying and the race. Rindt again drove R6, with Miles again driving R10. Miles did not qualify; qualifying 8th, Rindt's was the only Gold Leaf Team Lotus car in the race. After inheriting 2nd place, due to retirements on lap 62, he was still 9 seconds behand Brabham. Rindt got fastest lap closing the gap to Black Jack who had led most of the race, he caught him by the last lap, and on the last corner Jack locked his wheels and Rindt passed him for the lead and win. This was to be the last win for the 49; by now with everyone else having wings and the DFV, even the skill of Rindt could not overcome its age. R6 raced unchanged in the following race at Spa but retired. This was its last championship Race, although it did enter 3 final non-championship races in 1971. R10 would not be at Spa but would have more races. This paint Represents the Gold Leaf cars driven at Monaco in 1970. As with my other Gold Leaf cars this paint comes with a custom spec map; the paintwork has a high gloss with metallic gold trim, the decals and other parts have a less polished finish. With the later cars I have used the alpha channel to create the extra vents; I have had to move them back a bit to fit them around the car_mandatary front number roundel, which was not generally used on the later 49s. I have updated this paint to add the holes identified in the Adrian Newey repaint. I did not update the screenshots as this was all that I changed, but you can see what the update looks like with some of the other paints.
