About this paint

R8 was first Driven by Graham Hill in the 1969 Tasman Series as a 49T/B. It was not raced at Montjuïc. It was raced by Attwood at Monaco, and then again by Hill at the British GP. After this it was sold to Ecurie Bonnier. Jo Bonnier raced the car at the German GP and it was entered in a couple more races but did not compete. In 1970 it was uprated to 49C spec and sold to Scuderia Scribante, and entered into the South Africa F1 series under the #7. It retired from the first and won the second. For the F1 World Championship race Dave Charlton qualified 13th in front of one of the factory 49Cs (Miles) and finished in front of the other (Rindt) when he retired after 73 laps with a puncture. This was the last time R8 raced in a World Championship event. Afterwards Charlton entered 9 further races in the South African F1 Series; wining 7 (finishing 2nd and retiring from the other 2) and taking David Charlton to the first of several Championships. I have managed to identify most of the decals; the only parts I could not find were the 3 words around the Roadholder decals. By their size and context I have made a best guess (if anyone knows the correct words please contact me by the comments section below). The name Roadholder is normally associated with the Norton Motorcycle front forks; and that was all any search turned up. As with my other Loti, this paint comes with a custom spec map; the paintwork has a high gloss with the decals and other parts having a less polished finish. I have used the alpha channel to create the extra vents; I had to move them back a bit and make changes to the size and position of some of the decals to fit them around the car_mandatory number roundels. I have updated this paint to add the holes identified in the Adrian Newey repaint. I have also made changes to the colour balance of Rotary Watches decals (I based them on modern branding that did not match the pictures). I have updated all the screen shots to reflect the changes. iRacing have updated the spec map so this car now has a matt finish. I have edited the spec map to return the gloss paintwork. No changes to the car in the screenshots.
