About this Custom Number paint

Cale Yarborough - 1979 Daytona 500 - 75 Years: The Moments Cale Yarborough’s 1979 Daytona 500 began inauspiciously as brothers Donnie and Bobby Allison tangled racing for the lead early on, taking Yarborough spinning through the infield grass with them. Donnie and Cale escaped unscathed, but lost laps stuck in the mud. The two proved to be the class of the field all day, however, and both pushed their cars hard to put themselves not only back on the lead lap, but in positions one and two in the closing laps, a mile ahead of third place. With Donnie Allison in the lead, Yarborough paced himself running just behind in second, waiting for the chance to make the decisive move. On the last lap, Yarborough set up a slingshot exiting turn two, and pulled alongside Allison. Allison blocked Yarborough to the grass and the two collided. The two separated for a moment before smashing back together again. Their cars locking together, the pair slid into the turn three wall, and into the infield grass too damaged to move. Richard Petty inherited the lead, then fended off a slingshot attempt from Darrell Waltrip to steal the win. And there’s a fight! As the two clamored out of their cars, and Bobby Allison stopped his car to check in, heated discussion rose to a boil as fists started flying. They were angry, and they knew they had lost. This paint represents the Junior Johnson owned number 11 Busch Oldsmobile as it appeared on that day. The 75 Years project is a series of paints dedicated to the history of NASCAR racing.
