About this Custom Number paint

Ron Bouchard - 1981 Talladega 500 - 75 Years: The Moments Rookie Ron Bouchard took over the Jack Beebe-owned number Race Hill Farm ride six races into the 1981 season after Harry Gant departed to begin his tenure in the Skoal Bandit 33. In Bouchard’s 11th career race, the Talladega 500, the Massachusetts driver found himself sitting third on the final lap. Out of turn four, second place Terry Labonte tried to slingshot around leader Darrell Waltrip on the outside. Waltrip moved high to pinch Labonte, opening the inside for Bouchard to make his move. At the line, in a three-wide photo finish, Bouchard prevailed. Waltrip later admitted he thought the unfamiliar yellow and white number 47 Buick was a lap down. Unfortunately, much of the country missed the race, as the CBS feed failed during the live broadcast. The hot rookie won the pole two weeks later at Michigan, but never again found victory lane, ending his cup career in 1987. This paint represents the car as it appeared that day at Talladega in 1981. The 75 Years project is a series of paints dedicated to the history of NASCAR racing. Follow me for updates: twitter.com/iam27paul
