About this Custom Number paint

Bill Elliott - 1992 Hooters 500 - 75 Years: The Moments For Bill Elliott, 1992 looked to be a new beginning. Elliott left the Melling team that brought him so much success in the 1980s after performance slipped in the 1991 season. Junior Johnson signed the perennial most popular driver away to pilot the Budweiser Fords for 1992, and the pairing instantly found new success. Elliott won four races in a row during the first few weeks of the season, and took the points lead from Davey Allison by late summer. Elliott’s consistency fell off down the stretch, allowing Allison and Alan Kulwicki to surpass him entering the season finale. When Allison found trouble during the race, Elliott and Kulwicki battled throughout the day for championship supremacy. Elliott undercut Kulwicki on the final pit stop for both drivers, and although it got him the lead, it was a lap too late as Kulwicki secured the bonus points for most laps lead. Elliott cruised to victory but Kulwicki took the championship trophy by the smallest points margin in Winston Cup history. This paint represents the number 11 Budweiser Ford as it appeared that day. The 75 Years project is a series of paints dedicated to the history of NASCAR racing. Follow me for updates: twitter.com/iam27paul
