Decals- GT Sport and GT7 decal repositories. “20 Years of Trying, 20 Years of Frustration!” Those words spoken by Mike Joy capped off the 1998 Daytona 500 which was won in dramatic and euphoric fashion by Dale Earnhardt Sr., in his previously described 20th attempt at the Great American Race. The Intimidator started 4th in the race and went on to lead a race best 107 laps on the cloudy February day and had many battles with his biggest competitors, among them being Bobby Labonte, Jeff Gordon, and the two Penske drivers of Rusty Wallace and Jeremy Mayfield. The race ended under caution after Lake Speed and John Andretti tangled on the backstretch with two laps left reading to the field to race back to the line with Dale using the lap car of Rick Mast as a pick to get the extra draft necessary to stay ahead of the hard charging Labonte and Mayfield, banging doors to the line as there was nothing they could do as The Intimidator finally got his long awaited 500 crown.
